Getting the Word Out About Getting Pregnant

Education is essential to being an empowered fertility patient. It's also important for you as a consumer. I've recently joined the Blog World at http://infertilityhouston.blogspot.com/.

For many of our readers, it's hard to imagine *not* knowing the many places where you can find the latest information on getting pregnant. As we discussed in our last newsletter, a recent survey indicated that women are still feeling uninformed about fertility basics. I'm working to bridge that information gap.

Why A Blog?
Blogs are a convenient way for readers to keep up with the thoughts and opinions of people they want to hear from and information sources they respect.

For the providers of information -- like me -- blogs provide a way to communicate on a frequent basis without causing our readers' email boxes to overflow.

More Than Just Education

This newsletter gives readers a chance to learn about getting pregnant, fertility treatment, and related topics on a monthly basis. Most of the subjects I discuss in the newsletter are archivable -- meaning the information is as good in later months as it is the day its written. In fact, we do archive all of our previous newsletter issues at the Houston Infertility Clinic website, just under the Newsletter Subscription box. (Feel free to pass around any of the issues that you see there.)

But with a blog, I can comment on "newsier" items of interest to my readers, on the spur of the moment. As we all know, reproductive medicine is a fast-moving and changing field of treatment.

It can be tough to keep up with the latest. Readers who subscribe to my blog will receive notifications through their chosen blog-reader/feed that I've had something to say on a fertility topic.

In Closing

I look forward to this new way of communicating with you. I hope you'll find my opinions informative and thought-provoking. Let's see if we can close the information gap and help others get an early handle on their fertility related needs.

Sincerely,

Sonja B. Kristiansen, MD
