A working mother from Texas who's had to juggle choices between medical practice and parenthood, Dr. Sonja Kristiansen (Houston Fertility Center's founder and Medical Director) knows there are millions of women struggling with tough decisions about timing their family-building. Due to economic necessity or other life circumstances, many are finding that pregnancy must be put on hold. Others may try to conceive earlier in life, only to find their dreams of getting pregnant not coming true. 

Houston Fertility Center's state-of-the-art, fertility-specific laboratory (on I-10 in central Houston, Texas) and highly experienced staff enable Dr. Kristiansen and her patients to utilize virtually every known form of infertility treatment, whether that's IVF or other fertility enhancing technology.

 Still, the Houston Fertility Center team is small enough to focus on each patient's unique situation. Our offices open early so that IVF and other patients can arrive for monitoring appointments before their busy day begins. Specialized staff works individually with patients to help them access financing and make IVF more affordable.

With 3 locations in the Houston, Texas vicinity (central Houston near the Galleria, Sugar Land near southwest Houston, and the northwest Houston-Tomball area), Dr. Kristiansen and her medical team have developed a reputation for serving patients from all over the Texas Gulf Coast.

In-Vitro Fertilization

In vitro fertilization, or IVF, represents the best fertility treatment option available anywhere. For more than 30 years, IVF techniques like those used in our Houston, Texas center have helped millions of people around the world resolve their fertility challenges.

Houston Fertility Center also offers services to help patients make the most of each IVF treatment cycle, like preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) and MicroSort® (for gender selection).

Dr. Kristiansen's IVF patients who travel from other cities or states are required to stay overnight in Houston, Texas for part of their treatment. Houston Fertility Center staff will assist patients with finding appropriate and affordable lodging.

Infertility Testing

The first step for any fertility patient is to assess possible causes for infertility. We work with each patient and their insurance to determine the means of diagnostic testing that is both most cost-effective and beneficial to your treatment plan.

Some patients arrive at Houston Fertility Center with usable test results from their primary care OB/Gyn.

Houston Fertility Center staff frequently collaborates with referring physicians from all over Texas, even for patients who choose IVF as their treatment.
